PROJECT
Vehicle Trade-in Estimation Platform
ROLE
Product Design / UI Design / UX Design

YEAR
2022

CLIENT
Stellantis
Design of a digital platform allowing users to obtain an instant trade-in estimate for their vehicle across multiple automotive brands.
The product was deployed for several manufacturers including DS Automobiles, Citroën, Peugeot, Opel, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Lancia, Spoticar, PSA Retail, Kia and Ford.
The goal was to transform a traditionally complex process — vehicle evaluation, damage reporting and resale estimation — into a simple, intuitive and scalable digital experience.
The platform also acts as a lead generation tool for dealership networks, connecting online users with physical points of sale.
Challenge
Vehicle trade-in estimation involves multiple steps and technical information that can be difficult for users to understand.
The challenge was to design an experience that: simplifies the estimation process • guides users step by step • builds trust in the result
works across multiple automotive brands with different visual identities.
Another key challenge was designing a scalable interface capable of adapting to several brand ecosystems.
Approach
The user journey was structured into five clear steps:
Vehicle information • Vehicle condition • User profile • Dealership selection • Final estimation
A visual progress system helps users understand where they are in the process and reduces friction throughout the experience.
Damage Reporting Interface
A key component of the product is the interactive damage reporting system.
Instead of relying on traditional form inputs, the interface uses an interactive vehicle illustration where users can directly select damaged areas.
This playful and visual approach makes the process more engaging while improving the accuracy of the data collected.
The system allows users to: identify damaged areas on the vehicle • specify the type of damage • quickly complete the assessment.
Multi-Brand Design System
The interface was designed as a scalable multi-brand system.
A shared design framework ensures consistency across brands while allowing visual customization based on each manufacturer’s identity.
The system includes: reusable interface components • adaptable color and typography systems • flexible layouts supporting different brand guidelines.
This approach enabled the platform to be deployed efficiently across multiple automotive ecosystems.
Outcome
The platform turns a complex and often stressful process into a clear and guided digital experience.
By combining a structured user journey, interactive elements and a scalable design system, the product supports both user needs and dealership business goals.
The result is a flexible platform capable of supporting multiple automotive brands while maintaining a consistent user experience.
